July Athlete of the Month - Dan Christiansen

Every month we will honor one athlete and recognize them for the effort they put into their fitness as well as the effort they put into building our awesome community. This athlete is someone who gives it their best consistently and is committed to CrossFit and to reaching their goals.  They are all about helping those around them become the best version of themselves and inspire those around them.

Hobbies, Talents, Skills outside of CrossFit?

When I’m not playing with the little ones, I enjoy wood working and reading a good book

When did you start CrossFit? January 2019

What did you think after completing your first CrossFit workout?

That was the hardest I’ve worked out in 10 years and it was awesome!  

Main reason for joining BVCF?

Get out of the house more and work out with lots of motivated people

What is your fitness background?

Played a couple sports in high school and football in college; after that just random lifting

How has BVCF changed your life?

I’ve been much more consistent working out than in the past because the gym and coaches are amazing

What results have you seen so far since coming to BVCF?

Increased overall strength and endurance

What is your favorite workout or lift? Deadlifts and rope climbs

Least favorite? Overhead squats, front squats, back squats…squats

Proudest moment at BVCF? Rxing an entire workout for the first time

What is your CrossFit goal in the next 6 months? Beyond?

Learning to perform handstand pushups and improve squats!

What advice would you give to a newbie or someone just joining CrossFit?

I’m still a newbie but I think making time every week to come in is the hardest and most important thing
